NRCO was born from a vision that true community development cannot be reduced to a single program or a single need. It must tend to the whole person, from the child, the elderly, the seeker and the struggling young adult.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Olive Kajubu Tumwesigye’s story is one of compassion in action. Her journey of community transformation began with a simple desire to share the love of Jesus Christ with some of the most forgotten members of her community, the elderly.<\/p>

As she visited elderly men and women in their homes, Olive witnessed not only their spiritual needs but also the many challenges they faced, including loneliness, poverty, and limited access to healthcare. Moved with compassion, she began organising regular visits, sharing the message of God’s love, praying with them, and providing practical support. She also mobilised resources to take many of them for medical checkups and treatment, restoring dignity and hope to those who often felt forgotten.<\/p>

While serving the elderly, Olive became increasingly aware of another pressing need: the children in the community. Many lacked access to quality education and positive spiritual guidance. In response, she started Noah’s Bible Club, creating a safe environment where children could be loved on,\u00a0 build strong values, and develop a sense of belonging.<\/p>

What began as a ministry to children soon revealed a deeper educational challenge. Many families were struggling to provide quality education for their children. Determined to make a difference, Olive established Kito Community School in the year of our Lord, 2007, providing affordable and accessible education to children within the community. Through the school, countless children have gained opportunities to learn, grow, and pursue a brighter future.<\/p>

As the children grew older, another challenge emerged. Many young people were completing the primary level, but lacked the practical skills needed to find employment or create sustainable livelihoods. This concern became even more evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, when many young people and graduates found themselves without work or income.<\/p>

Rather than accepting this reality, Olive saw an opportunity to create a lasting solution. Through research, planning, and community engagement, she founded Nile River Skilling Institute (NRSI)<\/a> in Kisooba village, Lugazi . The institute was established to equip young people with practical, marketable skills that would enable them to earn a living, support their families, and contribute meaningfully to society.<\/p>

Today, Nile River Skilling Institute offers training in automotive mechanics<\/strong>, electrical installation<\/strong>, plumbing<\/strong>, cosmetology<\/strong>, fashion and<\/strong> design<\/strong>, catering<\/strong>, and other vocational trades. The institute has discipled many youths for Christ, empowered numerous young men and women with the skills, and provided opportunities needed to build successful futures.<\/p>

Olive has also championed church planting in the community and the participation of girls in technical fields, helping to break barriers and create greater opportunities for women.<\/p>

Through these initiatives, her work has evolved into a holistic model of community transformation. From caring for the elderly, nurturing children through Noah’s Bible Club, providing quality education through Kito Community School, and empowering youth through Nile River Skilling Institute, her vision has touched every generation.<\/p>

Today, these efforts operate under Nile River Community Outreach, reflecting Olive’s belief that true transformation occurs when communities are cared for spiritually, educationally, socially, and economically.<\/p>

Olive’s legacy is not merely found in the institutions she has established, but in the lives transformed.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
